Creating an XML sitemap in HubSpot is a straightforward process because HubSpot automatically generates a sitemap for your website. However, you can manage and customize the sitemap settings to a certain extent. Here’s how you can access and customize your sitemap in HubSpot:
- Access Sitemap:
Log in to your HubSpot account.
Navigate to "Settings" by clicking on the gear icon in the top-right corner.
In the left sidebar, go to "Website" > "Domains & URLs."
Look for the "Sitemap" section where HubSpot shows you the automatically generated sitemap link, which usually is https://www.yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml.
- Customize Sitemap Settings:
HubSpot automatically includes all indexed pages and blog posts in your sitemap. However, if you want to exclude specific pages:
Go to your "Website Pages" or "Landing Pages."
Select the page you want to edit.
Click on the "Settings" tab.
Look for an option related to "Advanced Options" or a checkbox that says "Exclude from sitemap" and update as needed.
- Publish Changes:
Make sure to publish or update your changes for them to take effect. Your sitemap will update automatically with these changes.
- Submit Sitemap to Search Engines:
If you want to submit your sitemap to search engines like Google, you can use Google Search Console:
Log in to Google Search Console.
Select your property (website).
Navigate to "Sitemaps" in the left-hand menu.
Enter the URL of your sitemap, e.g., https://www.yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml, and click "Submit."
Remember, HubSpot handles most of the sitemap generation automatically for you, so you mainly need to manage exclusions or specific settings. If you have any additional requirements or complexities, such as multilingual sites, consulting HubSpot's support or documentation might give you more tailored advice.
