To manage inventory in Shopify, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Shopify admin account.
  2. Click on the "Products" tab on the left-hand side of the dashboard.
  3. Select the product you want to manage inventory for, or click on the "Add product" button to create a new product.
  4. In the product details page, scroll down to the "Inventory" section.
  5. Set the "SKU" (stock keeping unit) for the product, which is a unique identifier for each item.
  6. Specify the initial quantity of the product in the "Quantity" field.
  7. Choose the "Inventory policy" that fits your business needs. The options are:
  • "Continue selling when out of stock": Allows customers to purchase the product even when it is out of stock. Ensure you have a backorder or fulfillment system in place.
  • "Allow only the products in stock to be sold": Prevents customers from purchasing the product when it is out of stock.
  1. Enable the "Track quantity" checkbox to automatically update the product quantity based on sales.
  2. If you want to receive an email notification when the product's inventory reaches a certain threshold, enable the "Email me when the inventory is low" checkbox and set the "Inventory threshold" value.
  3. Save the changes.

You can also manage inventory in bulk by using the CSV import/export feature, or by integrating third-party inventory management apps from the Shopify App Store if you require more advanced functionalities.
