To apply multiple filters in Google Analytics, you can follow these steps:
- Sign in to your Google Analytics account.
- Select the desired website or property from the "Admin" section.
- In the "View" column, click on "Filters".
- Click on the "+ Add Filter" button.
- Give your filter a name for reference.
- Choose the filter type based on the specific criteria you want to apply. There are several options, such as:
"Predefined": These are commonly used filters provided by Google Analytics. For example, you can exclude data from known bots and spiders.
"Custom": These filters allow you to set specific parameters based on conditions like include or exclude patterns.
"Advanced": These filters provide more advanced options and allow you to use regular expressions (regex) to create complex patterns.
- Set up the filter based on your requirements. For example, if you want to include traffic only from a specific country, you can select the "Country" dimension and set the pattern accordingly.
- After configuring the filter, click on the "Save" button.
- Repeat the aforementioned steps to create additional filters if desired.
Note: Filters are applied in a specific order. Make sure to consider the order if you have multiple filters in place, as the data will be affected accordingly. You can change the order by using the "Up" and "Down" arrows in the filters list.
Keep in mind that applying filters may permanently alter your data, so it's recommended to create a new view for filtering purposes instead of modifying the default view. This ensures you always have access to the original, unfiltered data.
