To integrate a custom domain with Shopify, follow these steps:

  1. Purchase a Domain Name: Register your desired domain name from a domain registrar of your choice. Popular options include GoDaddy, Namecheap, and Google Domains.
  2. Modify DNS settings: Login to your domain registrar's website and access the DNS settings for your domain. Look for the DNS management or DNS records section.
  3. Set up the CNAME Record: Create a new CNAME record and point it to your Shopify store's myshopify.com URL. To find your myshopify.com URL, go to your Shopify admin dashboard, navigate to Online Store > Domains, and copy the primary domain. Enter this URL as the value for your CNAME record.
  4. Set up the A Record (optional): Shopify recommends creating an A record as well as the CNAME record. Find the IP addresses provided by Shopify in the same Domains settings page. Create a new A record pointing to each IP address.
  5. Add the Custom Domain in Shopify: Go back to your Shopify admin dashboard and navigate to Online Store > Domains. Click on "Connect Existing Domain" and enter your custom domain name. Click "Next."
  6. Verify Domain Connection: Shopify will prompt you to verify the connection of your domain. Click "Verify Connection" or follow the steps provided to complete the verification.
  7. Configure SSL Certificates (optional): Shopify offers free SSL certificates for custom domains. To enable SSL, click on "Enable SSL" in the Domains settings page.
  8. Set as Primary Domain (optional): If you have multiple domains connected, you can set your custom domain as the primary one in the Domains settings page. This will make it the default domain for your Shopify store.
  9. Test the Custom Domain: After completing the above steps, test your custom domain by entering it in a browser. It should now display your Shopify store.

Please note that DNS changes may take some time to propagate, typically a few minutes to a few hours. So, be patient and check your custom domain periodically to ensure the integration was successful.
