To set up Shopify with Google Analytics 4 (GA4), follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to your Shopify account and navigate to your admin dashboard.
  2. Go to the "Online Store" section and click on "Preferences."
  3. Scroll down to the "Google Analytics" section and paste your GA4 Measurement ID in the corresponding field. Your GA4 Measurement ID should look like "G-XXXXXXXXXX."
  4. Click "Save" to apply the changes.
  5. Open a new tab and sign in to your Google Analytics account.
  6. Select the property for which you want to enable GA4 tracking, or create a new property if necessary.
  7. Go to the "Admin" section in the bottom left corner of the page.
  8. Under the "Property" column, click on "Data Streams."
  9. Click on the "+ Add Stream" button.
  10. Select "Web" as the source of the data stream.
  11. Fill in the required information, such as the stream name and website URL.
  12. Click "Create stream."
  13. On the next page, copy the Measurement ID provided for the newly created data stream.
  14. Go back to your Shopify admin dashboard.
  15. Paste the Measurement ID you copied from Google Analytics into the "Google Analytics" field in the "Additional scripts" section. The Measurement ID should be in the format "G-XXXXXXXXXX."
  16. Click "Save" to apply the changes.
  17. Your Shopify store is now set up with GA4. You can start receiving data in your Google Analytics account.

Keep in mind that it may take a few hours for the data to start appearing in GA4 after the initial setup.
