To use Google Analytics 4, follow these steps:

  1. Set up a Google Analytics 4 property: Sign in to your Google Analytics account. Click on the Admin tab. Under the Property column, select the account where you want to create the new property. Click on the Create Property button and choose Web. Fill in the necessary details, such as the website's name and URL. Click on the Create button to create the new property.
  2. Install the tracking code on your website: After the property creation, you will get a tracking code. Copy the tracking code provided, which typically starts with "gtag.js" or "firebase". Paste the tracking code into every page of your website, just before the closing tag.
  3. Configure data streams: In Google Analytics 4, you need to set up a data stream for every platform you want to track, such as web, iOS, or Android. Click on the Data Streams option under your new property. Click on the Add Stream button and choose the appropriate platform. Follow the instructions provided to set up the data stream for that platform.
  4. Explore the Google Analytics 4 interface: Once the tracking code is installed, you can start exploring the data in your Google Analytics 4 account. Click on the Home tab to see the standard reports and key metrics. Navigate to the Analysis tab to access more advanced analysis tools. Use the left-hand menu to check specific reports, cohorts, or configure settings.

Note: Google Analytics 4 is a newer version and offers different features than the previous Universal Analytics. It is recommended to have both versions set up side by side during the transition period.
