Incognito mode in Google Chrome is a private browsing mode that allows users to browse the internet without the browser storing any data about their browsing history. This mode is intended to help users keep their online activity private if they are on a shared or public computer, or if they don't want their browsing history to be recorded.

To use incognito mode in Google Chrome, follow these steps:

  1. Open Google Chrome browser
  2. Click on the three dots icon in the top-right corner of the browser.
  3. Select "New incognito window" from the drop-down menu. Alternatively, you can use the keyboard shortcut "Ctrl+Shift+N" in Windows or "Cmd+Shift+N" in macOS.
  4. A new incognito window will open, which will be indicated by a dark-colored browser window with an incognito icon at the top corner.
  5. You can now browse the web in this window, and any history, cookies, or other data that might typically be saved will not be stored.

It's important to note that incognito mode does not make you completely anonymous online. Your internet service provider, network administrator, and the websites you visit can still identify you and track your activity. Incognito mode only helps to protect your browsing history and temporary data on your device.
