SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. SEO allows businesses to optimize web traffic on their website. SEO is able to assist web users by connecting them to the exact product or business they are searching for. When using a search engine, search results will yield organic and non-organic web results, or in other words, free web results and paid advertisements. Search engine algorithms must organize websites in an optimum manner. There are over 200 million active websites online that must be organized. Google, for example, uses programs called spiders that create an index using web links. The programs start on one web page and files each connected web link from there. Local SEO, similar to SEO, connects web users to businesses in their proximity. For Google, Map pack is where local businesses' numbers, location and other information are listed.

Local SEO refers to the practice of optimizing a website or online presence to improve its visibility in local search results. This is particularly important for businesses that have a physical location or serve a specific geographic area.

Local SEO involves various strategies and techniques to enhance a website's chances of appearing higher in local search engine results pages (SERPs). This includes optimizing the website's content, meta tags, title tags, and URLs with relevant keywords and location-specific information. It also involves creating and optimizing a Google My Business profile, managing online reviews, and ensuring NAP (Name, Address, Phone number) consistency across various online directories and listings.

The goal of local SEO is to increase a business's online visibility and make it easier for local customers to find and contact them. This can lead to higher website traffic, more leads, and increased foot traffic to physical locations.
