To enable or disable the automatic tab discarding feature in Google Chrome, follow these steps:

  1. Open Google Chrome on your computer.
  2. In the address bar, type "chrome://flags" and press Enter. This will open the experimental features page.
  3. In the search bar on this page, type "automatic tab discarding" to quickly find the feature.
  4. Once you find the "Automatic tab discarding" feature, click on the dropdown menu next to it and select "Enabled" to enable the feature or "Disabled" to disable it.
  5. Restart Google Chrome for the changes to take effect.

Keep in mind that enabling the automatic tab discarding feature may improve the performance of Chrome by reducing memory usage, but it may also result in suspended tabs being reloaded when you switch back to them. Disabling this feature will prevent Chrome from suspending tabs automatically, potentially leading to higher memory usage.

Note: The automatic tab discarding feature may not be available in all versions of Google Chrome, as it is an experimental feature. If you cannot find it in chrome://flags, it might not be present in your version of Chrome.
