To add a GitHub README.md page to Google Search Console, follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to your Google Search Console account at https://search.google.com/search-console/.
  2. Click on "Add a Property", which is located at the top left corner of the page.
  3. In the URL prefix box, enter the URL of your GitHub repository that contains the README.md page. Make sure to add "https://" before the URL.
  4. Click on "Continue" to move to the verification process.
  5. Choose the appropriate verification method for your GitHub repository. There are several methods available, such as HTML file upload, DNS record, HTML tag, and Google Analytics.
  6. Follow the instructions provided by Google Search Console to complete the verification process. The steps will differ based on the chosen verification method.
  7. Once the verification is completed and your GitHub repository is successfully added as a property in Google Search Console, you can access the Search Console dashboard.
  8. Click on your verified GitHub repository property to view the performance metrics of your README.md page in the Google Search Console.

After adding your GitHub repository to Google Search Console, it may take some time for Google to index your README.md page and provide performance data.
