To track website tags with Google Tag Manager, follow these steps:
- Sign in to your Google Tag Manager account.
- Create a new container or select an existing one.
- Click on "Tags" in the left sidebar.
- Click on the "New" button to create a new tag.
- Select the tag type that you want to track (e.g., Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, etc.). If the tag you want to track is not available, you can use a custom HTML tag.
- Configure the tag by providing the necessary details like your tracking ID, conversion ID, or pixel ID, depending on the tag type.
- Set the trigger for the tag. Triggers determine when and where the tag will fire. You can choose from existing triggers or create new ones based on specific conditions.
- Preview and test your configuration to ensure that the tag fires correctly.
- Once you are satisfied with the configuration, click on the "Submit" button in the upper right corner to publish your changes.
- After publishing, the tags will start tracking based on the configured triggers on your website.
Remember to regularly review and update your tags as needed. Google Tag Manager provides a convenient way to manage and track website tags, helping to streamline the process and reduce the need for manual tag implementation.
