To enable or disable automatic tab discarding in the Brave browser, follow these steps:

  1. Launch the Brave browser on your device.
  2. Click on the menu icon (three horizontal lines) located in the top-right corner of the browser window.
  3. From the drop-down menu, select "Settings."
  4. In the Settings tab, scroll down to find the "System" section.
  5. Under System, you will find the "Continue running background apps when Brave is closed" option. Toggle this option to enable or disable automatic tab discarding.

When the option is enabled, Brave will automatically discard and free up system resources for inactive background tabs. This helps to conserve memory and improve overall performance. When disabled, all tabs will be kept active regardless of their usage, which might consume more system resources.

Note: Automatic tab discarding is currently available only on Brave desktop versions, not on mobile devices.
