To enable or disable hardware acceleration in Firefox, follow these steps:

  1. Open Firefox and click on the menu button located at the top-right corner (represented by three lines).
  2. From the dropdown menu, select "Options" or "Preferences" (depending on your operating system).
  3. In the Options or Preferences tab, navigate to the "General" section on the left sidebar.
  4. Scroll down to the "Performance" section and click on the "Settings" button.
  5. This will open the Performance settings dialog box. In the dialog box, you will find the option "Use recommended performance settings." Make sure this box is checked for optimal performance, including hardware acceleration.
  6. If hardware acceleration is already enabled and you want to disable it, uncheck the box next to "Use recommended performance settings" and uncheck the "Use hardware acceleration when available" option below it.
  7. If hardware acceleration is not enabled, you can check the box next to "Use recommended performance settings" to enable it. Alternatively, you can check the box next to "Use hardware acceleration when available" to enable hardware acceleration specifically.
  8. After making the desired changes, click on the "OK" button to save the settings.
  9. Restart Firefox for the changes to take effect.

Please note that hardware acceleration may improve performance for most users, but in some cases, it can cause graphical glitches or other issues. If you encounter any issues with hardware acceleration enabled, you may want to disable it.
