To set up Google Analytics on a website, follow these steps:

  1. Create a Google Analytics account: Go to the Google Analytics website (analytics.google.com) and sign in with your Google account. If you don't have an account, you can create one easily.
  2. Set up a new property: After signing in, click on the "Admin" button at the bottom left corner of the page. In the "Property" column, click on the "Create Property" button and provide the required information about your website, such as the name and URL.
  3. Get the tracking code: Once you have set up the property, Google Analytics will generate a unique tracking code for your website. Copy the tracking code provided.
  4. Add the tracking code to your website: Open the HTML source code of your website in a text editor or website management tool. Find the section of your HTML code and paste the tracking code just above the closing tag. Save the changes and publish your website.
  5. Verify the tracking code: Go back to the Google Analytics page and click on the "Admin" button again. Under the "Property" column, click on "Tracking Info" and then select "Tracking Code." Here, you can see the status of your tracking code. If the status is "Receiving Data," then your tracking code has been successfully added to your website.
  6. Start tracking: Google Analytics typically takes a few hours to start tracking data. Afterward, you can visit the Google Analytics website and access various reports and analytics about your website's traffic, user behavior, and more.

Remember to comply with Google Analytics terms of service and data protection regulations when using the service.
